I documented 2 weeks in Japan including Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto & Hakuba in March 2018. Featuring Ben Buchanan & Tom Jager. Filmed using the Lumix GH4, Iphone, GoPro 6+ and edited with After Effects/Premiere Pro 2018. These 8-bit video game inspired illustrations are my take based on Jim Phillips skateboarding graphics from the 1980's. They are based on pixel creation from his existing graphics, entered into a competition to win prizes distributed by Santa Cruz Skateboards. The brief explained: "For your chance to win, post something creative that's inspired by the Screaming Hand. It could be a tatt, drawing, skate picture, poem, story, whatever, as long its inspired by the Screaming Hand.
I recently started a project which was a full length skateboarding DVD entitled GRIM WAYS 'Get Real!". Below is the DVD packaging & CD cover art for it, I basically worked on the layout design, photography & text as well as the interactive menu for the DVD. The original Grim Ways logo & some illustrations were done by some other artists. Running time: Approximately 26 minutes. Filmed & Edited by Ben Buchanan
